Writing Mark 7

Good morning, I had a lot of scribbles and scratch outs in today’s writing. I feel like it was more than usual, but that is ok. I know my mind isn’t going to be as clear as it is on other days. I just scribbled and kept going.

As I was writing today, I thought about the differences in the way Jesus chooses to heal people. In some he doesn’t even have to see them, they are far away and he says they are healed and they are. Then others, he chooses to touch them intimately, like the deaf man with the speech impediment, he put his fingers in his ears and touched his tongue. There are so many other examples in the bible. Was it for the one being healed? Or maybe for the ones watching? I have no doubt He could have just commanded them all be healed without touching any of them, but he chose to touch so many of them. Some were the untouchable, I imagine some had not been touched in a very long time. Jesus knew what each person and each situation needed.

I am not a very touchy feely person. I have had to learn to accept hugs and to give hugs. I will never be good at it. But I know others need it. I will never be a ‘toucher’ a ‘petter’ or a ‘hugger’. Please don’t take it personally. I would much rather throw you a hug than to give it, but I am working on it. But remember Jesus knows what you need.

Hope everyone is having a great day!!
