Writing 2 Samuel 13

Good evening… I know I have been slacking lately, I am not sure if anyone had noticed. I have had trouble with staying motivated lately to do my writing. We will see how this week goes maybe better than last week.

Now on to today’s chapter….

“Now Absalom, David’s son, had a beautiful sister, whose name was Tamar. And after a time Amnon, David’s son, loved her. And Amnon was so tormented that he made himself ill because of his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin, and it seemed impossible to Amnon to do anything to her.”

2 Samuel 13:1-2

O’ the terribleness of temptation. We are all tempted, some with lust like Amnon, and some with materialism, money, anger, etc. We all have them, but do we allow it to control us. If you have read the rest of the chapter then you know that this does not have a happy ending for anyone involved. It is a sad story, but that is usually what happens when we allow temptation to fester and act on it. Not only did Amnon give in to his temptation of lust, but Absalom also gave in to his temptation of anger towards Amnon.

Temptation is a daily struggle for me. I hope I can learn to control it better as each day passes. I should pray about it more. If either of them had turned to God instead of acting it out then the chapter would have been much better. 🙂 I need to remember this.

Try to read a few verses from the Bible today!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day today!!
