Squirrels in the Attic part 3 (2/6/2023)
As Gerald and I drive home from worship service on Sunday afternoon, we pull into the driveway, I notice a squirrel. Not just a squirrel, but a squirrel with a mouth full of leaves and stuff. I tell Gerald to sit still, don’t get out. I want to see what this squirrel does. Then we watch it climb up a tree next to the house. Well, about 10 feet or so from the house, we had limbs cut off of it because they were hitting the house. So, as we watch this squirrel, its mouth full of leaves and grass and stuff. It climbs the tree. Then it stops to look at me as I sit in the car, looking at it. It turns goes a few more steps higher, then it kind of bounces like getting ready to jump. You know how a kid counts, ‘one, two’ and moves just a bit with each count. That is exactly with this squirrel does. Then it jumps. Right on my house and takes off to the back where they are getting in. So, my husband is right, they are jumping from the tree. This isn’t a small jump. These little creatures are really neat. But they are just not quite as neat when they are in my attic. Maybe I should put my stuffed squirrel in the attic so they can see it. Or my stuffed armadillo. Do you think seeing them would scare them off? Probably not. We haven’t had a chance to work on plan B because of the rain and Gerald has been so busy. Plan B needs to start soon. Looks like this squirrel is nesting and we all know what happens after nesting begins….
I sure hope everyone is having a wonderful day today!!
