Writing Matthew 25 (2/6/2023)
Good morning. In this chapter, Jesus is continuing this warnings to get to the kingdom of heaven. He wants everyone to be prepared, to be aware, to plan for it. In the last section of the chapter, I feel he is speaking to our hearts. Making sure I understand that my heart must change. Some people are naturally aware of what others need and naturally react. I am not naturally aware. I don’t know if it is selfishness, or if I busy my mind to other things, preoccupying myself so that I don’t see others needs. Maybe it is a learned behavior I didn’t learn. There is a song that says something like, ‘let me see how you see’. I do wish I could see people’s needs a bit better, but at the same time it is scary for me. I could not imagine the responsibility that would come with the ability to see everyone’s needs. I imagine that is why He spent His time healing people, with great crowds around him. We all have our strengths and our weaknesses. I will keep working on mine.
