Saying Good bye to the Sube!
Yesterday, I said good bye to Gerald’s 91 Subaru. It was kinda sad. It is funny how an object can stir up so many memories. This is the car that I made so many trips in when my mother was sick. I got a speeding ticket in one day on my way home from her house because I was so tired, and trying to get back in time to take Ashley to a game. I remember driving down the highway looking over at our son in his car as we headed to Corinth, Mississippi. We were probably going to eat (Mexican) Sushi. This is also the car that I tried to teach Ashley how to drive a stick shift only to make her pull over about 5 minutes down the road because she almost drove us into the ditch. I only drove it for a year before Gerald took it over. I think Gerald said it had over 500,000 miles on it before the odometer quit working. He made many work trips in this car.
As I was thinking back about this car, it reminded me of a time in our lives that was so different when we got it. Our son was with us, my mother was alive, we were raising two teens, spending so much time at ball games, we had dogs we no longer have, I think we even had our farm animals when we got this car. A very busy time in our lives. So much has changed. Some sadness but also so many blessings along the way. I am thankful for the time I had with those who have passed on. I am thankful for those who we have known over time. I am thankful for those we know now. I am also thankful for where I am today. All my experiences have helped me in ways that I cannot put into words. I am blessed. Blessed in the hard times and the good times. I am thankful most of all for my Lord who has carried me through it all and who will going forward.
Hope everyone is having a great week.

I love your
