Writing Numbers 12 and 13
Good morning…
“The land , through which we have dong to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height. And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come of the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and we seemed to them.”
Numbers 13:32
As a small woman of 4′ 9 1/2″, I can see how giant men might be a bit intimidating. Especially, if I had to take their house from them. What they had forgotten was that God was with them. The same God that helped them flee Egypt without them lifting a finger to fight. How could they have forgotten something like that? It just takes a small voice to share a few negative words of discouragement, that spreads like a fire. It spread so quickly that they didn’t hear the words of Caleb:
“Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to over come it.”
Numbers 13:30
I know that I have to watch my words, and have found myself to be discouraging at times. I should be encouraging and put my faith in the Lord, instead of this world. What I may see is impossible, the Lord makes possible.
