Writing Leviticus 25
Good afternoon…
“The Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying, “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land that I give you, the land shall keep a Sabbath to the Lord.”
Levicituc 25:1-2
Not only did the people have to keep the Sabbath. The land also had to keep a Sabbath, it was every 7 years. In that year, the people could not work the land. They could not plant nor harvest in that year.
It makes me wonder if I should work harder on some days, and then have a day of rest. Was this just so that the people would focus on the Lord, or was there something to be gained with a day of rest, or a year of rest for the land. Sadly, I work for a bit, then rest for a bit, throughout each day. Do I have the wrong approach? I know I can work harder. 🙂 It is definitely something that makes me think. 🙂
