Writing Genesis 33

Good morning…

“But Esau ran to meet him and embraced him and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.”

Genesis 33:4

This verse makes me smile. I love to see true forgiveness in action. Esau was not holding on to the things in the past that Jacob had done.

This verse also makes me think of another passage:

“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.”

Luke 15:20

In this parable we see that the father was so thankful to see his son. I think Esau was the same way. Maybe (speculation) Esau didn’t think he would ever see his brother again. This was his twin brother.

My lesson, no matter what a person has done towards me, I have the choice to forgive or to stay in the past. In my experience, forgiveness has an opportunity to bring much joy. Staying in the past doesn’t give is the chance to see if joy can come.

Try to read a few verses today!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day today!!
