Writing Genesis 8
Good morning…
“Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And when the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”
genesis 8:20-22
After Noah left the ark on dry land, the first thing that is written that he did was build an alter and made an offering to the Lord. In my mind, it was a thank you to the Lord for getting them where they were; the only survivors on the earth. For what ever reason, his first thought was to worship his Lord.
The Lord was so pleased with Noah that he made Noah and all the generations that followed (including us) a promise. He will never curse the ground or strike down every living creature on this earth. So as long as this earth stands, there will be a place for us to plant our feet, seasons, and days. This is very comforting, especially when you hear some of the theories that are out there today.
Thankfully, as a child of God, the place we have to look forward to isn’t here on this earth. It is a place were God will dwell and we will dwell with Him.
Try to read a few verses today!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day today!!
