Writing Ecclesiastes 8
Good morning…
“There is a vanity that takes place on earth, that there are righteous people to whom it happens according to the deeds of the wicked, and there are wicked people to whom it happens according to the deeds of the righteous.”
ecclesiastes 8:14
We see this everyday, bad things that happen to good people, and good things that happen to those who are not so good. I can try to figure it out or I can just accept it. I can take what happens in my life and to learn from it, or I can sit in my sorrow. I can accept the good that happens to me, even though I didn’t deserve it, and try to help another.
There is a very important point that we might miss if we don’t look closely. ‘On Earth’. I can keep this point close to my heart. This vanity takes place on this earth, not in heaven. That is such a wonderful point for me to remember.
So, what can I do on this earth to help each day:
“And I commend joy, for man has nothing better under the sun but to eat and drink and by joyful, for this will go with him in his toil through the days of his life that God has given him under the sun.”
ecclesiastes 8:15
Don’t dwell on the bad that may happen, enjoy my place on this earth. Enjoy what I do have, and don’t dwell on the things I don’t. It will make it so much easier for me to work each day, if I enjoy the things I worked for. If I can bring myself to smile at the end of the day, no matter how hard that day was, then the next day will start out better.
I can also look forward to heaven. A place where Christians will be given a new home, with the Father in heaven. God is so Good!!
