Writing Ecclesiastes 7

Good morning…

“Do not take to heart all the things that people say, lest you hear your servant cursing you. Your heart knows that many times you yourself have cursed others.”

ecclesiastes 7:21-22

How many times have I worried about what others have said? Especially the things that I ‘heard’ that they said about me. My feelings have been hurt many times. They have been hurt even before I found out if the person really said them.

Solomon says I shouldn’t even worry about them, after all, how many times have I been guilty of talking about others. O BOY, that goes back to the verses in Matthew about taking that log out of my eye.

“Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, when there is the log in your own eye?”

matthew 7:3

I need to remember what Solomon says right before this:

“Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.”

ecclesiastes 7:20

On this earth we are all equally sinners. I may do better today, but then find myself messing up again tomorrow. I need to stop worrying about what others might say or do, because we are all the same, and it is a waste of time worrying about these silly little sins that don’t lead to love and understanding.

It is because of our sinful nature that God sent His Son on this earth, so that all can be forgiven, so that all can be washed clean, so that all can be joined with Him in heaven some day.

God is so Good!!
