Writing Psalm 18
Good morning… I had to laugh at my not perfect writing today. Somehow as I was writing, I skipped the end of 18 and wrote the end of 19.. So then I had to go back and finish 18. The joys of writing. If I ever look back at these books, it will give me a smile to see my mistakes. I am thankful that I allowed myself the freedom of lots of scribbles. 🙂
I love this Psalm. It was hard to decide what to bring out. If you get a chance, take the time to read the entire Psalm.
“I love you, O Lord, my strength.
Psalm 18:1-2
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
I love to see the dependence that David has on God. God is his everything. I need God as my everything..
David also seen the magnificence of God:
“Smoke went up from his nostrils,
Psalm 18: 8-12
and devouring fire from his mouth; glowing coals flamed forth from him.
He bowed the heavens and came down, thick darkness was under his feet.
He rode on a cherub and flew; he came swiftly on the wings of the wind.
He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him, thick clouds dark with water.
Out of the brightness before him hailstones and coals of fire broke through his clouds.”
I imagine this was part of why he was so dependance on God. He knew His power and might. He also knew His love for those who were faithful.
“For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God. “
Psalm 18:21
I am so thankful that we get a glimpse of the heart of David, so that I can learn to love God more.
God is so Good!!’
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
