Writing Job 32 and 33

Good morning.

“I am young in years, and you are aged; therefore I was timid and afraid to declare my opinion to you.”

Job 32:6

Now we have reached the place in Job where Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite speaks. He has quietly sat and listened to the others as they spoke, but didn’t say anything because they were older. But his anger has had the best of him and he can no longer sit in silence.

“For I am full of words; the spirit within me constrains me. Behold, my belly is like wine that has no vent: like new wineskins ready to burst. I must speak, that I may find relief; I must open my lips and answer.”

Job 32:18-20

Elihu is bubbling over with anger and has to speak. I don’t want to count the number of times I have felt this way…. As I am in situations were I have tried to be silent only to finally burst with my opinion.

“Therefore I say, ‘Listen to me; let me also declare my opinion.'”

Job 32:10

Did you catch that word again? Opinion. I have to be careful in giving my opinion to another. Especially when I my opinion is boiling up inside of me. I need to say a prayer in these times.

God give me the patience to stay silent when my words will not help a situation.
God give me patience to keep silent when my words are my opinion and not your words.
God give me patience when my words are not out of ‘your’ kind of love.

God is so Good!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
