Writing Hebrews 4
Good morning. There were a few verses that caught my attention, but as usual, I will try to keep it short. To begin with in verse 7:
“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”
Hebrews 4:7
I know the writer was focusing on the word ‘today’ but I couldn’t help but catch the “do not harden your hearts’. So often, we hear things over and over and begin not to notice them like we should. Things become normal and regular. I should never become that way with the words of God. Another way I can become hardened is if I just turn away from His words. If I ignore what He says and walk the other way. If I harden my heart then I will never enter His rest.
“Let us therefore strive to enter that rest,
so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.”
Hebrews 4: 11
I need to keep moving forward towards the Lord with my heart softened. Willing to hear and listen. The writer also points out:
“And no creature is hidden from his sight,
but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him whom we must give account.”
Hebrews 4: 13
I think of this as a blessing, my hope is that it will keep me accountable to my own actions. My Lord is there, He is watching over me, He sees what I do, the experiences I go through, the choices I make. He also guides me, holding my hand, and picks me up when I need it. And boy do I need it sometimes. He is there, He is not missing from my life. That is a blessing.
God is so Good!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day today!!
