Writing Philemon
It isn’t morning.. It is afternoon… I rearranged my schedule today so that hubby and I could spend a little time together. Thankfully, I can change things around a bit when I need to.
Philemon, a little letter, a really little letter. Only 25 verses and it was finished. It is a letter that is to several people but mostly to Philemon, a fellow worker in the Lord. Paul pours out his heart in support for Onesimus, someone he considers a son, a bondservant of Philemon’s. I think about how emotionally connected Paul is to fellow Christians that he came across. For someone like me who has a bit of trouble connecting emotionally, it makes me see how tenderhearted Paul really was.
As I was writing, I came to verses 17-19:
“So if you consider me your partner, receive him as you would receive me. If he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, charge that to my account. I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it”
I could not help but think of our Lord Jesus Christ saying these same words to God the Father on my behalf. After all Jesus’ blood has washed away my sins, He has paid a debt I could not pay. Because of my sins, I could never go to the Father on my own. Jesus makes it possible. We are so blessed to have a savior that loves us so much and is so tenderhearted, that He was willing to die for me. We have a God that loved us so much and is so tenderhearted, that He sent His Son.
God is so Good!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
