Writing 1 Timothy 5
Good morning. As I wrote and reread this chapter I found this chapter to be a good guide of how I should treat others and how I should be overall. To begin with,
“Do not rebuke an older man but encourage him as you would a father, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, in all purity.”
Could you imagine a world that kept this rule in the way we treated others? I know I can not control how others are, but I can do my best to control myself. I also know that if I follow this rule in relating to those around me, then the world around me will be different. How much better it will be just by me being different?
This next verse that I would like to point out is written in regards to widows but I think it can be applied to any of us with extra time.
“Besides that, they learn to be idlers, going from house to house, and not only idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not.”
I have to be careful what I fill my time with. I am not a widow, but I am also not raising children or grandchildren, so I have extra time that others may not have. What I fill my time with will influence my soul. Too many times I have spend it on things that I should not have. I just have to refocus and start again. Thankfully, I have that choice each day that I am on this earth.
God is so good!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
