Writing Ephesians 4
Good morning. Wow, there is so much in this chapter that I want to share…. Where do I start?
Maybe I should start at the beginning of the chapter:
“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, there is one body and one Spirit— just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
Unity…. Do you see all of the unity in the one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all. It is sad there is so much separation created by man on this earth. Then we are blinded and are unable to see the truth. I need to keep growing in Christ so that I will no longer be a child, tossed to and fro by false teachings. (Verse 14) I have to be aware of what the word of God says.
There are also some very good things Paul says that I can take to heart and use as a guide in my daily life:
“Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one of another. Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grade to those who hear.”
“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
I always need guidance in my everyday life. I guess Paul thought the Ephesians needed it too. I am thankful for these letters to help guide us all to oneness with Jesus and God the Father.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day today!!
